Assignment Details : Sales Director
 

Our private equity backed client [t/o c£65m] has the dominant share in its segment of the building products market. A profitable and well run business, it can attribute this to its long history of product innovation driven by fast changing customer requirements and ever increasing building control regulations which focus on the dual need for environmental compliance and energy efficiency.

 

This is a new appointment to the board as the business executes its strategic plan.

  

The Role:

  • Formulate and implement a sales strategy that delivers profitable sales growth
  • Define, manage & measure sales team performance against KPI’S
  • Identify new business opportunities whilst continuing to develop relationships with existing customers & channel partners
  • Motivate the sales team so they are recognised as best in class both internally and externally.
  • Participate as a voluble member of the board in defining overall business strategy  

The Candidate:

  • Graduate calibre, board level experience. Can demonstrate a successful track record within a medium-sized £30m-£100m] building products business.
    Branded product experience would be an advantage. Understanding of multi-sales channels is essential [distribution/specification] 
  • Skilled negotiator who is commercially astute and possesses first class presentation skills and personal gravitas. 
  • A natural leader who can manage relationships with tact and diplomacy yet is not afraid to challenge the status quo.
