Where a client is open-minded about required sector experience
it is an increasingly common practice to run search and selection
in tandem.
The main benefit derived from this approach is that it addresses
a wider candidate population. Typically a shortlist would consist
of candidates who had relevant sector experience alongside those
who had appropriate skill sets. In essence, sector relevance was
desireable but not essential.
Fundamentally, this approach is followed, even if not requested,
as part of our commitment in ensuring our clients make an appropriate
appointment. We support this commitment still further by ensuring
an appropriate quantity / quality of candidates is provided even
if that means sourcing individuals from other consultancies –
to us, protecting the relationship counts above all else.
