Job Information:
Our PE backed client is a profitable business with a product range that enjoys market leading status within their category of what is a fast growing segment of the consumer plastics market. All products are injection moulding manufactured in China and a global customer base is served from distribution facilities in the UK & USA.
It is fair to say that this business is supply rather than demand constrained and whilst it has been able to succeed there is scope for modernisation and improvement in all aspects of operational activity from product quality, through production & delivery efficiency to stock ordering and availability. 
This is a key appointment within the leadership team carrying responsibility for leading and developing the global operations of the business which will embrace all of these activities: supply chain, ERP systems implementation, value engineering, vendor selection & management [including tooling], purchasing, warehouse management and quality systems.
The plan is to more than double the size of the business over the next 3-4 years – it will be a journey that is both exciting and exacting with the rewards for success being substantial.

Key Objectives
• Deliver operational cost savings or value add through value engineering, price negotiation, cost of quality, warehouse management.
• Take measures that ensure 95%+ OTDIF of all order lines from all warehouse locations to all customers and scaling up [x5] of individual pick, pack and ship items from warehouses by end 2022 which will support direct sales initiatives.
• Work with technical & project teams on an accelerated NPD programme that yields at least 5 new products per year and, as part of this, work to achieve right-first-time tooling, processes, and control plans with suppliers.
• Optimise the operational footprint to provide capacity for future growth.
• Support the MD and work with fellow SLT members in a manner that supports the achievement of corporate objectives.

The Candidate
• Graduate calibre engineer [Mech / Elec] who has a demonstrable track record of delivering supply chain savings whilst not compromising quality. Six Sigma / Lean qualification would be helpful
• Minimum 3 years’ experience of sourcing CE or electromechanical products with extended supply chain from Far East to UK / USA
• Thorough understanding of injection moulding processes and tooling is essential alongside PCBAs, drives & controls assembly.
• Experience of relocating a factory / warehouse would be desirable and similar for movement of tooling / processes between vendors.
• A first class communicator who is highly numerate. Can manage on a day to day and strategic level with equal aplomb.
